  1. Lame announcement at best; very disappointed. I have noticed a trend with many developers deep into new projects while other existing things are not brought up to date. Sorta leaves a bad taste knowing products previously purchased have to sit waiting for a re-code. Guess it is just the nature of the beast!

  2. I was jumping around all the different Twitch streams that were at the PMDG presentation, and every single one of them had chat windows filled with disappointed people. I don’t think it will be a bad product. Just not what people want. It’s a bit like Nvidia doing a “BIG” announcement at the end of this year, and they tell everyone they are getting into the PC case business, and show off a new PC case to build your next PC in. Nvidia makes GPU’s. That’s what people expect (and want). People expected (and wanted) a new aircraft.

    • I believe PMDG wants to offer something subscription based to achieve constant cashflow. But that’s not what flight simulation community wants. There is big problem with companies like Microsoft or Dovetail Games that trying to solve the problem that doesn’t exist and ultimately fail on this field. And PMDG seems to be falling to the same trap.

  3. Very disappointing news and totally not worth the one month hype.. It is just a slight extension of what you do in Virtual Airlines or FSEconomy.. Nothing ground breaking.. Secret for 10 years? Come on..

For the average simmer who doesn’t even enable failures, let alone persistent failures etc, it doesn’t add much value.. It’s just basically more paper work before you start flying.. Great.. Thanks..

I was hoping it will be a product that can solve the bigger issues every average Joe simmer is facing like poor performance with dynamic lighting etc or some new aircraft or new platform etc..

I’m not saying this is a bad feature.. Ya its sorta nice to have for some people who have the bandwidth to do that.. If I had seen this news as a casual news item, I’ll be like “oh I see, good to know” .. But one month of hype over this.. Thats what makes it so disappointing..

  4. I’m interested in adding that much level of realism and real world aviation procedures to my 747 cargo flights. As I missed the 1-month-hype thingy my expectations were 0 (zero, naught, nada, niente) and thankfully I am pleasantly surprised. Coming from PMDG’s commitment to detail, I am surely going to pay close attention to this. Someone has said that this won’t be a paid subscription. Lets wait and see. 10 years in the making is a lot of time.

  5. Something told me this was not going to be what everyone expected… though I do not understand what the game is with Matt Davies… perhaps it was some indication that Matt may have known what was in the pipeline and went ahead with his? Maybe the PMDG version has been in development longer and Matt Davies brought his to market faster? I have absolutely no idea, but the PR stunt it would seem does sound somewhat strange…

Be great to see how this all develops…
