Lefteris Kalamaras’s formidable Flight Sim Labs Ltd., creators of the the high fidelity “study level” Airbus A320 for P3D version 4 and the Concorde-X for P3D version 3, announced in their forum today that they are raising the bar in icing simulation.
Previous solid accomplishments with realistic icing models have been with the PMDG BAe Jetstream J41 for FSX and the Flight 1 King Air B200 for FSX, P3D versions 3 and 4.
The Flight Sim Labs post today reveals the visuals, atmospheric, ground de-ice procedures and aircraft de-ice systems will be taken to a whole new level for their upcoming Airbus A319-X. A multitude of atmospheric and aircraft variables will interact fluidly to create dynamic and realistic ice accumulation and shedding, exclusive of aircraft de-ice systems. Aircraft de-ice systems will be expanded. Ground de-ice operations will be added with different de-icing options that can be selected in the Multi-function Control Display Unit (MCDU). The new ground de-icing options “are fully integrated” with FS Dream Teams robust Ground Services X (GSX) for FSX and P3D. Refer to the post here for the details and preliminary specifications here.
Moreover, this these new features and systems are being constructed and tested in close collaboration of actual and currently active real Airbus A319 pilot operators.
