The Remote Control Display Unit (CDU) by Mark Foti offers a menu of high-fidelity aircraft Flight Management Systems (FMS) and an overhead panel client, which can be displayed on an Apple iPad, Tablet or Smartphone through the add-on remote server.
A purchased license is required for each individual component to work for $10 Euros (EUR) or approximately $11.36 United States Dollars. The overhead panel client costs $15 Euros (EUR) or approximately $22.742 United States Dollars.
Purchasing of licenses is done through the installed “SimServer” app.
Licenses for the Boeing 747-400 (includes the Boeing 747-8 model) FMC and EFB (separate purchases and licenses) by PMDG is available for purchase.
Additional licenses are available for the following high-fidelity aircraft:
- PMDG 737 NGX (SP1c or later)
- PMDG 777
- PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II, including the 747-8
- Leonardo’s Maddog MD-82 (SP1.10 or later)
- TFDi Design’s 717
- Aerosoft’s CRJ (SP1)
- Aerosoft’s A318-A321 Professional
I have owned the Remote CDU licenses for the PMDG Boeing 737,777 and 747-400 (747-8) FMC’s for some time. The utility is super easy and intuitive to use. After loading the “SimServer” and it connects with the flight simulator, the “SimServer” then generates a web address code (URL; e.g. http://122334.232.343) you type into the web browser on your device for each use. The Remote CDU Mark offers and his customer support are of the very best quality.
Mark has announced that the EFB license compatibility with the Boeing 787 by QualityWings has been developed and due for final integration into the aircraft by QualityWings. The EFB license will be compatible with both the PMDG 747-8 and QualityWings Boeing 787, thus no additional product license or purchase is required. Moreover, “The next version of Remote Server will support the QW 787 lower MFD/MFK (basically the “MCDU” keypad including the screen and touch-screen). For the first time, you’ll not only be able to remote control the FMS but also replicate the MFD with all it’s functionality on your mobile device. Yes – you can display the ND or any other display option you have within the virtual cockpit of the lower MFD!” The announcement statement can be read by clicking here.
