A few months back, I published ADX Insights – The Ethereum Effect explaining the temporary effect that miners had on the supply of GPUs. Since then, Bitcoin, among with most crypto peers took a big dive. My intention here is not to brag about luckily getting that call right, but to share a recent development in the crypto “industry” that is favorable to the supply of GPUs.
BITMAIN Antminer E3 enters the stage. This new devise is expected to replace the GPU towers currently used to mine Ethereum. Therefore demand for GPUs is expected to revert back to the mean. So if you are still waiting for your Titan Pascal or 1080ti, you will be pleased to find it in stock soon.
Here is a quote from Bloomberg:
“Bitmain, a Chinese maker of cryptocurrency mining technology, confirmed Tuesday it will release the Antminer E3, a new device for mining Ethereum. This may hurt Advanced Micro Devices and Nvidia, which make graphics processing units (GPUs) used for crypto mining, analysts say.”
