XPL. All the chatter about Dovetail Flight Sim and Aerofly, I guess it's only fair I toss in some XPlane banter. It's no secret, I am not a fan of XPlane. It's current environmental look&feel as well as it's user interface keeps me at bay. And by "at bay" I mean on another continent. On a different planet. In another galaxy, in another universe. In another time continuum. But I have been known to point out good addons for it when they come across my path. Austin Meyer and his team will be back at FlightSimCon this year and I am really interested to see what progress they will present in conjunction to the seminar they held last year and what changes/improvements they are making to the platform that may garner the interest of not only myself but the rest of us die hard FSX and P3D fans.
Despite knowing I am a not a fan of the platform, this does not stop many hardheaded fans from persisting sending me XPlane third party information because they know I can not resist talking about something I they know I will like. And this recent SBRJ release is one of those exceptions to the rule where you will see XPlane news on ADX. If released in FSX & P3D, it would surely give the TropicalSim version a run for it's money. The airport looks really good but the surrounding environment of XPL is what makes it all go blah. In any event, as stated above, I am really looking forward to whet Laminar Research will have to show in June alongside Dovetail. I think I might reach out to Aerofly and see if they might come display something as well... Hmm... Okay Jamal, there, I did it. Your XPlane post.
